Much of this growth had come through recent acquisitions. In October 1995, Rhodes announced the purchase of Weberg Enterprises Inc., a 21-store chain based in Denver, which gave it a foothold in both the Colorado and Texas markets.
Heilig-Meyers
Heilig-Meyers brands earned $5 billion a year in revenue from 2,000 locations. Grand Metropolitan was introduced to the home furnishings behemoth in the late 90s, taking control of the brands. Heilig-Meyers has been major NASCAR sponsors and helped raise millions of dollars for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition to 30 retail brands, the leader in home furnishings also operates 20 consumer brands including Four Seasons Home Accents, KidStore, and RentSmart.
HADID
Hadid has been built upon the legacy of heritage luxury brands excellence in fine jewelry, fine furnishings, haute couture, and fashion. Grand Metropolitan merged Finlay Enterprises, Heilig-Meyers Furniture, and Orcofi Holdings in Hadid in 2017. The Hadid brand will expand beyond North America in 2018 with a private line of couture merchandise offered by our Garfinckel and Lichtenstein Department Stores. Grand Metropolitan CEO Vin Lee heads the group.
